Dr Edward Sung is an interdisciplinary researcher based in Sydney, Australia, specialising in Computational and Applied Economics with Machine and Deep Learning applications, focusing on Energy Economics, Policy, and Sustainability. As a recipient of the prestigious UTS Research Excellence Scholarship, he completed his PhD at the University of Technology Sydney (UTS). His research centres on integrating advanced data-driven algorithms with econometric and economic modelling to solve complex real-world energy issues. His work has been published in leading Q1 journals, including Energy, Resources Policy, and Sustainable Development.
With over a decade of experience in corporate and project finance and strategic planning, he has worked with leading global energy and financial companies. As an entrepreneur, he manages an investment trust, applying his expertise to identify opportunities in the real estate market. He holds top-tier academic credentials from the United States, including Ivy League training, and is fluent in both English and Korean.
His research areas encompass not only energy but also a wide range of fields, including finance and environment. His expertise includes energy and financial modelling, corporate strategic planning, and in-depth financial and operational analysis.
